I have been meaning to send out this email for a few weeks but Joe and I ended up going out of town for the 4th of July and making an extended mini vacation out of it. So here I am finally sending an invite to join the next St. Marta’s Women’s Club meeting. The meeting will be held at the church on Monday July 29th at 5
pm. I hope you will come as it’s a pot luck to taste test some of this year’s recipes. You can come as a guest and if you enjoy yourself I would love to talk to you about being a part of the team this year. I still cannot believe how good those cookies were you made that won last year. You outdid yourself and better yet raised the bar for this year’s book. We were all getting lazy around the kitchen and not cooking as much as we have in the past and you being new in town and winning hands down lite a fire for submitting recipes, I thank you for that.
If you could let me know if you can come and if so what recipe you will be bring so I can get it onto the list that would be great. I will be bringing and Egg Bake that I have been saving up for a year like this one. I would love your feedback on it so please come.
Here is my French Toast Egg Bake if you would like to try it for yourself. I make this for Holiday Brunch and my sisters and I dream about it for weeks before and after it’s so yummy sinful. I received this recipe from Joe’s Mom a long time ago.
Favorite French Toast Egg Bake
1.5 lbs. bread, cubed (1 loaf) with or without the crust
1 8 oz. cream cheese, cubed which is an entire loaf
1/2 cup real maple syrup
2 cups milk
3 tbsp. cinnamon and sugar to taste
• Spray pan with cooking spray
• Place half of bread cubes on bottom of pan
• Evenly place cream cheese cubes over the bread
• Sprinkle Cinnamon and Sugar on each layer generously
• Place remaining amount of bread over the top of the cream cheese.
• In a separate bowl mix eggs, milk and syrup.
• Pour over the bread and cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight
• In the morning bake at 350º for 45 minutes with the foil on and another 30 minutes with the foil off.
• Serve with syrup.
Server with a shaker of Cinnamon and Sugar and or powdered sugar and whip cream is also fun.
*baking note check the middle of the egg bake and make sure egg is solid baking times will vary.
